What girl doesn’t love some glimmer and shimmer? Today’s steal, the Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists sets are the perfect tool to add a little sheen and bling to your crafty projects. In fact, I have had so much fun playing with my glimmer sprays that I’ve used them on every single project for the blog over the past week! Coming from a girl that has a pretty good stash of stuff, these Glimmer Mists would definitely be on the top of my list of must haves.
For those of you that have never used a glimmer mist, let me take you on a quick walk through of how they are used.
They can be used in multiple ways such as:
- enhancing colors of papers
- adding shimmer
- masking
- layering
- customizing white papers to make a project completely unique
My first experience ever with spray mists of any sort with these projects and I found them to be very user friendly and most of all fun!
Here are a couple of examples of how you can use the mists with a mask to create a unique and customized project.
On this example, I cut out flower shapes and laid them on top of a white piece of cardstock.
I added some of the Cranberry Zing, Graphite and Spring Violet mists, layering them for a unique look.
Next I removed the flowers and sentiment and ended up with a completely original background for a scrapbook page.
I also put the mask pieces to work on cards.
Another fun idea for a mask is to add letter stickers to your project prior to spraying it with Glimmer Mist.
After carefully removing the letter stickers this is what I ended up with.
You could even get creative and layer masks and mists. If you do, just be sure to start with the lightest color first.
For this weeks card sketch I wanted to create cards that would let the glimmer shine.
I took two sheets of craft paper and made them completely different by using the Creme de Chocolate and Spring Violet mists.
Isn’t it great what a little shimmer spray can do?
